Beware of the Banker is a crime fiction story that takes place in the Portland, Maine area. It was inspired by the true story of Bonnie & Clyde, the most notorious bank robbers in United States history, second only to Jesse James.  

It is the story of Tony, a bank branch manager addicted to casino gambling and as a consequence, finds himself deeply in debt. He spends his time trying to find a way to embezzle from his own bank then convinces a young man and woman to become modern day versions of Bonnie & Clyde and help him get back on his feet and fulfill a lifelong dream of moving to Las Vegas.

Clyde trusts and admires Tony and is willing to play the game. Tony is all the more anxious to work with Clyde when he learns he has served time in jail.  

In school Bonnie heard the story of Bonnie & Clyde and fantasized that someday she would be like Bonnie and be famous. This turned to Tony’s advantage.

The humorous crime spree of the modern day Bonnie & Clyde does in fact make them famous which attracts the attention of the FBI’s Special Agent C.T. who is determined to catch them. As they say, the FBI always gets their man, but in this case…
